We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced professional to manage its Information and Engagement Team. The role will be the lead officer responsible for all GDPR and Data Protection matters and will be Council’s Data Protection Officer. In addition, the role will manage a small team of officers responsible for processing FOI and EIR applications and subject access requests. The manager will also be the lead officer responsible for all equalities matters and also engagement/consultation. Finally, the manager will be responsible for facilitating the Bolsover Youth Council.
If successful you will manage a small team of Information and Engagement officers.
You will be required to work closely with clients from across the Council and its wholly owned companies together with its councillors.
To be successful you will need:
1. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the functions and services of local government.
2. Detailed knowledge of all aspects of information provision, engagement/consultation and equalities duties within local government.
3. Detailed knowledge of Data Protection, Environmental Information Regulations and Freedom of Information legislation in relation to local government.
4. Detailed knowledge of best practice in relation to information provision, engagement/consultation and equalities duties.
5. Proven management responsibility and experience for information provision, engagement/consultation, and/or equalities within local government.
