We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Programme Manager to join our Property Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Property, you will contribute your expertise to the transformation of East Midlands’ rail network by leading and supporting a team of Principal Project Managers and Project Managers in the delivery of Stations and Office improvement projects. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, with a focus on efficient resource allocation, safe delivery of works and effective project management. This role will directly deliver a huge impact to improving the rail network of the East Midlands, making sure our station facilities meet the needs of our customers for years to come. The Property Programme Manager will: Be a impactful and visible leader within the Property team and wider business, demonstrating ownership of the Property Programme. Work collaboratively with, and as a key member of, the Property leadership team and Head of Property, to deliver customer-focussed projects, on time and on budget. Accountable for the successful delivery of the Property Project Portfolio, including managing expectations for programme milestones. Oversee the planning and design of the Property works programme, managing output, resources, tracking progress, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Lead a team of Project Managers and Principle Project Managers in the effective delivery of projects. Collaborate with the business PMO to establish and execute programme controls, serving as the escalation point for project risks and issues. Manage the dependencies, interfaces, and processes between projects, the wider business and stakeholders. Responsible for maintaining a balance between contractor accountability and flexibility in change management within delivery contracts. The ideal candidate will have natural leadership skills and demonstrate confidence and a talent for fostering stakeholder relationships. A key part of this role involves ensuring both internal and external stakeholders are brought in to project scopes and objectives. As such, exceptional communication skills, along with the ability to influence and negotiate, are crucial to success in this position. To be successful in this role, you will have experience in: Significant Project Management experience, ideally with APM/PRINCE or similar qualification. Degree (or equivalent) in associated field – able to develop and deliver compelling reports and presentations to a range of stakeholders. Demonstrate qualifications to safely plan construction activities such as NEBOSH, CSCS, SMSTS or expansive demonstrable experience. Extensive experience of financial management, contingency planning, optimism bias and forecasting in a construction environment.
