About Us: Oakdale Electrical Contractors Limited is a well-established electrical contractor focused primarily on New Build Housing. We currently offer solar installation services by subcontracting to external providers, but as part of our commitment to sustainability and growth, we are bringing this capability in-house. We are now seeking an experienced individual to create, lead and manage our new solar division. The Role: We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven professional to lead the creation and management of our in-house solar division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the business strategy, overseeing operations, and driving growth in this exciting new venture. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Oakdale Electrical Contractors as we expand our renewable energy offerings under our direct control. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a business plan for the solar division, aligned with the overall goals of Oakdale Electrical Contractors. Transition our current solar operations from external subcontracting to in-house delivery, ensuring a seamless integration. Identify and evaluate opportunities for solar installations in residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Lead the design, planning, and execution of solar projects from inception to completion. Build and manage a team of solar installation professionals, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. Establish strong partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, and other key stakeholders. Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and advancements in solar technology. Research and secure eco and renewable energy grants, such as government incentives, subsidies, or local authority funding schemes, to support project development and client affordability. Manage budgets, forecast revenues, and ensure the financial health of the solar division. Work closely with Oakdale’s leadership to integrate solar services within our existing operations. Requirements: Proven experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably within solar energy. Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute a strategic business plan. Excellent knowledge of solar technologies, installation processes, and regulatory requirements. Experience with eco grants and renewable energy funding schemes, including knowledge of the application process, eligibility criteria, and maximising financial support for projects. Experience in project management and leading teams. Strong networking and partnership-building skills. Ability to manage financials, including budgeting and forecasting.
