We are currently recruiting for a Domain Architect at Matalan, who will drive architectural strategy, technical change, and support project delivery across all functions in the retail business. This role will have a particular focus on enhancing cyber security protections and responses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Cyber Security Manager to define and implement the cyber security strategy and IT roadmaps.
* Evaluate emerging cyber security threats and technologies; recommend and lead projects to enhance Matalan’s security posture.
* Provide mentorship and guidance on cyber security best practices, ensuring project teams implement security requirements.
* Support the cyber security incident management process, including response planning and execution.
* Contribute to reporting, risk management, incident rehearsals, and training programs to strengthen Matalan’s security.
* Ensure regulatory compliance by providing necessary cyber security information during audits and assessments.
* Align IT strategies with business needs while maintaining security integrity and supporting the broader architectural vision.
* Present high-level designs to architecture and governance forums, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Govern the detailed solution architecture following high-level design approval.
* Promote collaboration and good practice across business areas, contributing as a leader within the Matalan family.
* Assist in budgeting, business case development, and demonstrating the value of architecture projects.
* Perform hands-on technical activities as needed to support the IT team.
Minimum Requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years IT experience, with 2 years working in cyber security.
* Cyber Security qualification or certifications desirable but not essential.
* Must be able to communicate and influence at all levels of business.
* Strong understanding of the retail environment and industry trends.
* Experience designing and delivering enterprise-wide solutions on large scale programmes.
* Broad experience in IT preferably within the retail industry.
* Experienced in both traditional enterprise and digital ways of working.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Collaborative: the ability to develop strong relationships within company departments to show great teamwork.
