Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vaccination Support Officer to join a small enthusiastic team with responsibility for managing patient appointments, clinic lists, clinic builds, pharmacy orders, mailshots etc. to support the delivery of NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Vaccination Programmes, and will be based at Ailsa Hospital.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for dealing with escalated enquiries via the call handling team. Successful candidates will have strong administrator skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment. You will also form part of the team who answer inbound and outbound calls for the Local Vaccination Hub service. The ability to actively listen, make considered decisions and respond quickly and confidently is key to this role. Equally important is an ability to treat our citizens with dignity, empathy, and respect.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
You will be competent in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Microsoft 365, MS Teams and be able to demonstrate:
* Previous experience of training staff;
* Excellent customer service skills;
* Experience of working as part of a team;
* Excellent telephone manner;
* Adeptness in using own initiative;
* Experience of working in a busy environment;
* The ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively and efficiently whilst having the ability to remain calm under pressure;
* A sound understanding of confidentiality within a healthcare setting;
* Flexible with excellent communication skills;
* Knowledge of NHS systems would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided.
You should have the ability to multi-task as we work across different vaccination programmes and have a problem-solving and “can do” approach. You will be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment and will be supported to achieve your full potential.
Hours
The post is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
