We are seeking a compassionate and motivated leader, registered as an experienced mental health professional, with a passion for ensuring delivery of high quality care to those in mental health crisis.
Connection is a key part of our Access to Mental Health Services, providing mental health support and advice to the public, professionals and other agencies including emergency services, across Dorset, via our 24/7 telephone line and in very urgent cases by face to face assessments from our registered mental health practitioners. As a team leader you will have a pivotal role in the day-to-day management, delivery and ongoing development of the service. You will inspire and demonstrate leadership qualities through clear visible management, working with others, and demonstration of personal qualities aligned with professional and Trust values.

You will ensure adequate and safe staffing cover is maintained for patient care and maintain a professional portfolio and demonstrate that practice is up to date and evidence based.
You will prioritise ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care, within a positive culture that affords opportunity for learning and improvement at every opportunity.
You will ensure proactive and supportive supervision is provided for all team members, fostering a culture of psychological safety and collaborative learning and development as a whole team.
Establish excellent communication with internal colleagues and the wider community, promote partnership working, develop and maintain a well-established network of contacts with colleagues at all levels within the organisation and with external organisations.
You will be responsible for a range of work in audit, incident management and learning, complaints, and staff management (through HR processes when required).
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
