General Ledger Accounting Manager
Salary: Circa 50,000
Location: Norwich only
We have a fantastic opportunity in our General Ledger Accounting and Control team within GI Finance.
Reporting into the GL Accounting and Control Senior Manager, this role is key in the delivery of the general ledger (GL) close, operating the financial control framework for high-quality controlled and accurate general ledger fit for onward financial reporting.
This role will work closely with the wider GL accounting team, the financial reporting team, and the GL reconciliation team. The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of a team, running accounting processes and problem-solving.
A bit about the job:
* Manage a team of 3, acting in accordance with GI Finance leadership expectations and standards.
* Run the general ledger close process, ensuring all transactions into the general ledger, manual adjustments, and system feeds are accounted for accurately and within the agreed timetable, operating the appropriate controls and reviewing teamwork.
* Resolve any issues or exceptions reported through the GL close process, performing balance sheet analytics.
* Review the trading result to the UK Health, presenting this to the CFO monthly, working closely with Health Finance Business Partners.
* Support the key reporting period by providing additional disclosures for group, statutory and solvency reporting, timely reviews of key controls and EUCs, adhering to the minimum standards.
* Produce and review audit request and the audit deliverables for the team, working closely with the external auditors and the financial reporting teams.
* Receive and review the outputs of the production of balance sheet reconciliation, working closely with the GL reconciliations team to ensure appropriate review and governance is in place.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
* A qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW).
* Experience in managing a team and developing individuals.
* Strong Excel and analytical skills.
* Flexible to changing environments and the ability to prioritize workload effectively for both you and the team while maintaining high standards.
* Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with other areas of the business.

* Starting salary Circa £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
