We are looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to carry out automated and manual tests of (mainly) web applications to ensure applications meet functional and non-functional (including accessibility) requirements, define test plans, create test cases and test data based on requirements, and set up automated tests. The main technologies utilised by the team for new development are Angular, Laravel/php, MySQL.
As a Software Test Engineer you will work within a team of software development engineers, to facilitate and undertake testing thus ensuring upgrade and enhancement of existing systems and development of new systems are carried out to the highest standards and meet all requirements. You will be required to contribute to a number of projects at any one time and to work with senior developers and a devops lead to improve and automate testing wherever possible.
What you’ll be doing:
* Work with our product managers to assist with gathering/clarifying functional and non-functional requirements and to design new functionality where relevant.
* Collaborate with developers and product manager to test new applications and new features across a wide range of products:
o Create testing plans
o Define tests
o Work with developers and devops engineers to create, maintain and evaluate software automation test scripts
o Undertake manual and automated functional and non-functional testing
* Identify issues and raise detailed bug tickets:
o Proactively raise issues to the Product Manager as necessary
o Track defects within work management system (jira), and work with product manager to prioritise fixes.
* Proactively work with the team to ensure all new applications meet web accessibility standards.
* Maintain effective communication at all stages of the project life cycle.
What we’re looking for:
* An experienced Software Test Engineer with experience of functional and regression test techniques and some knowledge of test automation techniques.
* A keen eye for detail and passion to deliver quality work.
* Experience in Web Application Testing using relevant web tools.
* Experience in writing End to End test scenarios for software products.
* Experience in Functional and Regression test techniques.
* Experience with performance and load testing.
* Good understanding of User Interface testing.
* An understanding of non-functional testing (performance, security).
* Ability to test RESTful API’s using suitable tools (e.g., Postman).
* Experience of working with CI/CD tools.
* Experience of working in an Agile development environment.
* Proficient in use of version control tools.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to explain technically complex issues in a clear fashion.
* Understanding of web accessibility standards would be beneficial.
