We are seeking a qualified and experienced HR Advisor to join our client, a successful fast-paced SME at their site in Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds. This is a permanent, employed position working 40 hours per week from the office in Woolpit. 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday with 30 minutes daily for lunch.

The Job
Reporting to the HR Manager, this newly created role will be working in a small HR department of three. The HR Advisor position has been created to aid the company’s continued growth and expansion and is supported by a HR Administrator. Duties and responsibilities involve:
Assist with talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
Assist with managing onboarding processes.
Provide support to employees in various HR related topics.
Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
Assist in development and implementation of HR policies.
Undertake tasks around performance management.
Providing advice and assistance to management
Organise and participate in employee performance reviews including/ alongside HR Admin for minute/note taking.
Maintain employee files and records in electronic format using our HR platform.
Reporting on HR metrics
Assist with updating/maintaining company policies and compliance.
Promote employee benefits platform to improve employee engagement.
Amendments to contracts when required.
ER case load management.
Day to day HR management reporting to HR Manager
Conduct right to work & DBS checks.
Absence management procedure including RTW meetings.
Employee health & wellbeing MHFA
Maternity/Paternity/Parental leave management
Consulting with OH and referrals
Conducting exit interviews
Assist with development of HR platform, incorporating ATS. Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR system and practices in the organisation.
Visiting all depots as and when required
Assist, and advise on training and development.
Assist with payroll administration.
Requirements
This role requires an approachable, professional person who is able to conduct their work to high standards including surrounding confidentiality, as well as:
CIPD Level 5 minimum, plus a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in a HR role (essential)
Understanding of general HR policies and procedures
Good knowledge of MS office and HR systems
Excellent communication and people skills
Good active listening skills
Aptitude in problem solving
Understanding people and coaching
Experience of grievance, disciplinary, capabilities cases
Good understanding of EDI
Adaptable and resilient
MHFA
Due to the company’s location, it is essential that candidates wishing to apply have their own mode of transport and live within a reasonably commutable distance of the site already.

There is also a good benefits package available. Holiday allowance is statutory entitlement of 28 days inclusive of bank holidays, but increases with service up to an additional 5 days over 10 years.
