Are you ready to play a critical role in one of the UK's most ambitious and impactful infrastructure projects? Join the Project Oversight team in Independent Nuclear Assurance (INA) and help shape the future of clean energy.
INA serves as the internal regulator for the SZC project, providing an independent oversight capability, engaging across a broad scope of project activities on a risk-informed basis to support, regulate, inspect, and provide assurance of activities, arrangements, decision making and behaviours within the project.
The Opportunity
As an Independent Evaluator in INA's Project Oversight team, you will provide expert assurance across areas such as nuclear safety, environmental protection, organisational capability, quality, and supply chain. You'll offer an independent perspective on project risks, advise senior leaders, and ensure that safety, security, and environmental standards are prioritised.
In this role, you will perform oversight of and contribute to key arrangements related to Hold Point Management, Change Management, and Regulatory Commitments as well as delivering risk-informed independent assessments and routine oversight.
INA Evaluators regularly provide independent challenge at key project meetings and have the skills required to communicate with and influence stakeholders at senior levels. They also provide high-quality formal independent advice in writing, agreeing improvement actions with stakeholders where necessary.
You will collaborate with internal teams, external regulators, and key stakeholders to ensure the SZC project continues to meet the highest national and international standards, helping to shape a world-class nuclear power facility.
The successful applicant will join a team of Independent Evaluators, who perform assurance activities across topics such as organisational development, organisational capability, intelligent customer, culture, organisational learning, environmental safety, quality, supply chain, security, management arrangements, governance and operations.
You are not required to demonstrate expertise in all the above areas but will require broad experience in a high hazard industry, with the ability to operate flexibly and quickly become familiar with new topics.
You'll have the ability to navigate complex, technical projects while building strong relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
You should bring a sound understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and a proven ability to think critically, adapt quickly to new topics, and implement innovative approaches.
Experience in quality assurance, supply chain management, or major multi-disciplinary construction projects is a bonus, but not essential.
