Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Internal Communications Manager on the Sizewell C project. The Sizewell C project internal communications team is growing to reflect the increasing needs of the project. What a brilliant time to join a growing team!
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
As the Internal Communications Manager you’ll help inspire, inform and engage our growing workforce as the project continues its development and prepares for full construction. You’ll be responsible for editing our site newspaper and publishing a wide range of content across the business.
You’ll support the development of new publications and channels, including an extranet and digital signage.
You’ll work closely with HR to bring our employees and suppliers together so that Sizewell C has a strong sense of being one team with shared values and goals.
You’ll be supporting the Internal Communications team in day-to-day comms activity. This includes writing articles for our intranet, delivering content for our comms campaigns throughout the year, helping to deliver both online and in-person events and crafting all-staff emails when required.
As you’d expect for one of Europe’s largest construction projects, there’s so much going on each and every day and we’ll need you to roll your sleeves up and muck in right from the outset.
The Skills
You’ll need to be passionate about producing great written content, have an eye for a story with an eagerness to deliver and push for the best.
You’ll have your finger on the pulse of the editorial world and be excited about new channels and digital innovations taking shape within the written space.
We’re looking for an experienced communications or editorial professional, someone with a strong track record for managing and delivering across multiple channels in a busy, fast-paced communications environment – with experience of providing excellent service to a variety of internal stakeholders.
Construction experience isn’t essential, but if you’d don’t have that you’ll need to demonstrate you can find your feet quickly in this unique industry.
You’ll have first class storytelling and writing skills and excellent all-round creative judgement.
You’ll have excellent organisational skills and ability to manage projects from beginning to end.
Skilled in using creative software (CANVA, ADOBE, ACROBAT, MS365)
If the above sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!
