Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Department for an enthusiastic Band 6 nurse to join our successful Surgical Hospital Home Team here at The Luton and Dunstable University Hospital. The role of the Surgical HH nurse is to promote early discharge, of elective surgical patient from the hospital setting into a community setting. The candidate will have an opportunity to work autonomously nursing patients in their own home environment & working within the surgical directorate. The successful candidate will be an important part of the MDT. This position allows for a more focused based, one to one approach with patient centred, holistic care encouraging individual nursing. The role allows you to be involved and influence care, throughout the patient's surgical recovery. Recent or current experience within the surgical directorate would be beneficial. If you have knowledge and understanding of the surgical patients, breast & orthopaedic surgery. An interest in education of both patients and staff, the ability to be able to work on your own, however also part of a team this could be the role for you. The role gives you the opportunity to work with a wide variety of specialities within surgery, although having a primary focus at present on elective orthopaedic, & breast patients We actively encourage you to come and see for yourself, so would encourage you to arrange an informal visit.
