Band 6 Static Specialist Physiotherapist

This post requires a skilled and experienced inpatient Physiotherapist who is looking for an opportunity to specialise in Critical Care, Respiratory & Surgery and to further develop their Management and Leadership skills within a large Teaching Acute Care Trust. You will be working within a team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who pride themselves in providing high quality care to Critical Care, Respiratory and Surgical wards. You should have past experience in managing critically unwell patients, respiratory patients and Surgical patients. Surgical specialties that you will encounter include General Abdominal, Colorectal, Upper GI, Vascular (including acute Amputees) and ENT. In addition to this, you may have the opportunity to gain experience in Neurosurgical Critical Care and Paediatrics. You will be available to participate in on-call and weekend duties. This post also requires you to have the flexibility to work cross-site at King George Hospital (KGH). The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and have the ability to work under reasonable pressure within a multi-professional environment. You must also possess the desire to review current practices and the ability to help influence and promote change that will lead to advancement in patient care in line with the Trust's aims and vision.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries.
To participate in the static ARCCS band 6 rotation which involves working across the Trust (King George Hospital and Queens Hospital) in a range of settings including acute respiratory, critical care, surgery, and vascular ward areas. Alongside your general critical care rotation, you will be required to cover paediatrics with support of the paediatric band 7 Physiotherapists. Additionally, you will also have a rotation through neuro critical care.

Education/ Qualifications
* H.C.P.C. Registration
* Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
* CSP Membership
* Post graduate clinical training.
Skills/ Abilities
* Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate.
Experience/ Knowledge
* To have broad clinical experience of complex patients during rotations in an acute hospital setting.
* Clinical experience in Neurosurgical and Vascular surgeries including amputees.
