Main Purpose of Job
This position is to ensure the efficient stock control of plant, equipment, materials and consumables within the stores and yard. Assist the Operations Team with the day-to-day function and development of the department and ensure that senior management and directors have access to essential information.
Roles and Responsibilities
This role is varied and requires flexibility to undertake additional duties as required. The responsibilities will include:
1. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment within the stores and yard area.
2. Issuing plant, equipment, materials and consumables for collection or delivery, in a timely and efficient manner.
3. Ensuring stock is clearly identifiable and stock levels maintained.
4. Ensuring that stock control systems and paperwork are used at all times to actively safeguard against loss and damage.
5. Conducting stock checks when required, counting and verifying plant, equipment, materials and consumables.
6. Receiving and checking off deliveries, highlighting any anomalies and ensuring secure, correct, and timely storage of such deliveries in line with health and safety guidelines.
7. Loading and unloading of vehicles.
8. Operate plant, machinery and tools only if you are trained to do so in a safe and efficient manner.
9. Drive vehicles and carry out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, including routine maintenance (e.g. oil, water checks) and cleaning.
10. Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public.
11. Report near misses.
12. Follow company policies and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when relevant.
13. Promote a positive image of the company.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
1. Demonstrate previous experience in a similar role.
2. Abrasive Wheels certification.
3. Asbestos Awareness certification.
4. Driving licence.
5. Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
6. Face Fit certification.
7. Fire Warden certification.
8. Forklift Counterbalance certification.
9. Manual Handling certification.
10. Vehicle Marshal certification.
11. Good knowledge of stock control procedures and able to cover all listed processes.
12. Proficient IT skills.
13. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to processes.
14. Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
15. Ability to organise, prioritise and plan own workload.
16. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of their role within the business and demonstrate that they will undertake it accurately and diligently.
17. An enthusiastic and proactive attitude must be reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
18. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
1. Previous experience working in the waste water industry and product knowledge.
2. Experience of stock control software packages (preferably Sage).
Salary dependant on qualifications and previous experience.

Pay: £31,200.00-£32,500.00 per year
