Purpose of role:
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is a community-based charity seeking to support those living with or impacted by a cancer diagnosis. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to maintain the delivery of our charity's services and objectives by ensuring the day-to-day operational running. They will work closely with the CEO and management team to help set direction and monitor delivery against targets. They will manage relationships with our suppliers and key stakeholders, all while leading the newly created Shared Services Team – including admin, operational analyst, and finance.
Key responsibilities:
1. Manage the day-to-day operational running of the charity.
2. Effectively manage the charity's core supplier relationships to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, such as IT and HR support.
3. Lead any operational effectiveness reviews within departments and support the implementation of any changes.
4. Ensure office infrastructure is operationally effective.
5. Manage the HR processes to include recruitment, documentation, and contracts.
6. Manage and maintain DBS checks with the support of the CEO.
7. Implement any new policies and procedures and ensure adherence across the charity.
8. Ensure charity adherence to GDPR, taking on the role of Data Protection Officer.
9. Support the development and manage the charity’s operational plans in line with the agreed 1-year plan and overall strategy.
10. Conduct monthly reviews of the management accounts, looking at delivery against budget to ensure accurate reporting to the Trustees.
11. Attend Trustees meetings when updates or decisions are required.
12. Effectively manage the Shared Services Team (6 staff).
13. Work as part of the wider management team to promote high morale and effective communication with all staff.

Technical skills/Qualifications:
1. Effective management of staff teams and volunteers.
2. Experience gained in a leadership role, preferably within the charity sector.
3. Excellent numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills.
4. Excellent organization skills.
5. High level of proficiency in IT packages – especially in Microsoft 365, and an understanding of a CRM package.
6. The knowledge to interpret financial management accounts and some understanding of how these are compiled.

Current Driving License and access to own car is essential.
