Main duties of the job As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality gastroenterology services, including both diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy. You will take part in the "GI bleed" on-call rota and work collaboratively to manage patients on the Digestive Disease Unit ward under the Consultant of the Week model. A subspecialty interest in Nutrition and Hepatobiliary (ERCP/EUS) is desirable to support service expansion. The role also involves teaching and training resident doctors, nurses, and medical students, as well as active participation in governance, audit, and continuing medical education (CME).
