Job summary The Trust faced a number of challenges in the delivery of cancer access standards. The creation of a Cancer Services Care Group with a dedicated leadership team has enabled the Trust to focus on ensuring it not only achieves these standards, but develops a strategy to enable it to deliver excellent services to the populations it serves. This approach has already led to significant improvement in achievement of the cancer standards over the past year. The care group continues to develop its strategies to ensure this progress continues into the future. The Haematology department provides a comprehensive clinical and laboratory service for patients across East Kent. Inpatients for haematology and haemophilia are centralised at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. Nineteen subspecialised outpatient clinics are held per week and delivered on all four sites. Main duties of the job This post is a part time (8 PA) role, job share will be welcomed Provide inpatient and outpatient care as appropriate. Undertaking 3 haemato-oncology clinics per week, at Kent and Canterbury hospital and Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother hospital at Margate. In addition, there is a 1 in 6 attendance for Lymphadenopathy cause clinic. Attending weekly multidisciplinary team ward rounds as well as participating in a 1 in 6 ward attending rota and on call rota. There are separate on call rotas for Haem-oncology/general and coagulation teams. There is a full middle grade on call rota in addition to whom we provide support.
