Practice Business Manager Vacancy – Beechwood Medical Centre
About Us: Beechwood Medical Centre is a training practice of about 10,000+ patients. We are very forward thinking and have spent the past few years developing the team, both clinical and non-clinical to deliver a great service. We are part of the North Halifax PCN and are a single site practice. The patients at our surgery are highly dependent on the healthcare they receive, and we serve quite a deprived area of the town. We are rated by the CQC as a GOOD practice, and we are committed to delivering the type of general practice expected by our patient population.
We have a great mix of clinical staff working at our surgery including 2 partners, 3 salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, and a Physician Associate as well as a team of Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants. We also have an FY2 doctor and 2 x Registrar doctors. We have a great administration team led by the Practice Operations Management. We are very proud of what we have achieved and what we currently deliver but we now want a new Practice Manager to start and take the practice to the next level. The current Practice Business Manager will be semi-retiring and handing the practice over in a very good place and ready for the next new journey. We anticipate the new practice manager will probably start with 3 days a week and gradually step up to full time as the current practice manager leaves the practice. We anticipate this could take 2-3 years of gradual handover. This position would therefore suit someone who is currently running a small practice and wanting to step up to a bigger role or perhaps someone who is not from General Practice and wanting to learn the role from a very experienced manager.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and highly motivated, forward-thinking Practice Business Manager to lead our dedicated team here at Beechwood Medical Centre. The successful candidate will eventually ensure the efficient management of all our resources, the delivery of top-tier healthcare services, and the ongoing development of our strategic, business goals. Although not initially, you will eventually be responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing staff and HR, and driving change within the practice to maintain and enhance our high service quality. The candidate will also be a board member of the North Halifax PCN and will need to contribute to the working of this key operation. We are looking for a leader and someone who can lead as well as manage.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership:
o Lead the practice in strategic and operational planning, ensuring alignment with our long-term goals.

o Help to make key decisions as part of the board member of the North Halifax PCN.
o Champion the practice, its values, and its presence in the community.

What We Offer:
* A competitive salary commensurate with experience (probably around £50K pro-rata depending on experience) Potentially 10K a day per year.
