Financial Controller The role Geary's Bakeries has continued to grow resulting in the opening of a third, additional manufacturing plant as such, we're now seeking a Financial Controller to support the finance function. The main responsibilities include: Manage day to day running of all accounting functions including Cash, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Stock, Payroll, VAT, Accruals, and Prepayments. Implement new, efficient, and effective processes for the recording of transactional data into primary business systems reducing the reliance on offline Excel documents and data entry duplication. Prepare and publish timely, reliable, and insightful financial information with comparisons to budget and prior year. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, cashflow, and any other financial information. Manage, train, and develop transactional team members’, ensuring an adequate control environment exists over all financial transactions. Liaise with external parties such as Bank, HMRC, Auditors and any other external parties where required. About Us At Geary’s, we’re on a crusade to make proper bread more accessible to more people. Key Essential Criteria: Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). An understanding of cost accounting principles. Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel. Experience within the manufacturing industry or other fast paced business environments. Analytical and inquisitive mind-set, who shows desire to understand performance. Solutions-focused mind. Great communication skills Desirable but not essential: Knowledge of Sage200 would be advantageous. Food industry experience - Prior team management experience would be advantageous.
