The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic line manager to lead our private client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that their team meets business expectations, adheres to compliance standards, puts clients first, and achieves all key performance indicators (KPI’s). This role requires a proven leader with a strong track record of delivering success, alongside the ability to drive performance, foster growth and ensure development within their team. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent management skills, with a focus on team support, training and performance management.
Responsibilities
1. Lead, motivate, and manage a team of financial advisers and a client care team to meet business targets and KPI’s.
2. Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with team members to discuss performance, set clear expectations, and offer support.
3. Ensure the team meets all business objectives while maintaining high-quality standards in client service and compliance.
4. Provide ongoing feedback to team members to encourage performance improvement and progressional growth.
5. Ensure all team members adhere to internal compliance standards and industry regulations.
6. Put client satisfaction at the forefront of team operations, ensuring advisors deliver exceptional service and achieve client satisfaction targets.
7. Monitor and ensure that advisers are following company procedures and maintaining ethical practices in all client interactions.
8. Oversee the onboarding of new starters, ensuring they are fully integrated into the team and provided with necessary training and support.
9. Develop and implement tailored training programs to ensure the continuous professional development of team members.
10. Identify individual development needs, facilitating growth opportunities and career progression.
11. Conduct regular performance reviews, appraisals, and progress meetings with advisers to evaluate their achievements and areas for development.
12. Address any performance issues promptly and effectively providing constructive feedback and implementing improvement plans where necessary.
13. Ensure any performance or conduct issues are handled in line with company policies and procedures.
14. Support new advisers in achieving Competent Status within an agreed timeframe.
15. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages growth, accountability and shared success.
16. Champion the company’s values, ensuring advisers understand and align with business goals and strategies.
17. Act as a point of escalation for advisers, offering guidance and support in resolving challenges they may face.
Skills
1. Familiar with FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
2. Strong understanding of financial products across pensions, investments, protection, and taxation.
3. Proficiency in financial planning research tools, such as SelectaPension, Defaqto, and Cashcalc.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
5. Proven experience as a line manager, ideally managing a team of financial advisers or similar professionals.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and drive performance.
7. Indepth knowledge of compliance standards, financial services, and client care practices.
8. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
9. A track record of delivering results and improving team performance.
10. Ability to manage and resolve performance issues effectively and professionally.
11. Experience in conducting appraisals, performance reviews and training.
12. Strong understanding of KPI’s and experience in managing and achieving targets.
13. Experience in financial planning or advisory roles (desirable)
14. Industry-related qualifications, such as Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (desirable)
