Role Overview

The business supports public sector clients across the UK to make decisions about their services, estates, and budgets through the delivery of market-leading web applications and data visualisation tools, including SHAPE (Strategic Health Asset Planning and Evaluation).
To support growing client demands and an expanding product range, Parallel is looking to grow its developer team and take the business to the next level.
The Lead Developer will work alongside the Head of Software and with the software development team to deliver a series of software and data projects for NHS clients, to help modernise existing technology platforms and develop new products for new markets.
We are seeking a hands-on Lead Developer to take accountability for the technical delivery of the company’s products. The successful candidate will have relevant commercial development experience and a proven track record of leading development teams to deliver quality products within budget.

Essential Qualifications:
* Fluency in multiple programming languages/frameworks and the full SDLC
* Strong project management skills, with experience ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, across multiple concurrent workstreams
* People management skills with the ability to manage, measure, develop, and grow a team
* Technical guidance and mentoring to team members, championing best practices and improving overall team code quality
* Efficient and sensitive line management functions, including performance measurement and conducting appraisals
* A team player and excellent communicator with all stakeholders, including clients and colleagues
* Strong problem-solving skills, with a process-driven approach to design solutions
* High-level expertise in working with and developing on databases and RDBMS solutions (MS SQL preferred)
* High-level expertise with developing using .NET
* Proficient in HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript (ideally Vue.JS)
* Effective time management skills
* Passion for technology, ongoing learning, and client satisfaction
* Good understanding of information security, data protection, and confidentiality practices
* Good leadership skills, facilitating the professional growth of the technical team
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Experience in modern and varied application architectures, web development, and APIs
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience in using Vue.JS for building SPAs
* Experience in developing in Laravel/PHP
* Experience of geo-mapping formats, approaches, or tools
* Experience with other databases (ideally PostgreSQL or Redis) and Object-Relational Mapping frameworks (ideally Entity Framework or Eloquent)
* Experience with Cloud services/technologies (ideally MS Azure)
* Knowledge of XML and JSON for defining content structures
* Experience in developing Power Platform/Power Apps/Power BI solutions
* Experience in data manipulation and analysis
