Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Customer Service Assistant based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
What you will do:
The Supplies & Distribution Team within the Procurement Department provide a Procurement service to all NHS Ayrshire and Arran wards/departments/clinics ensuring that stock products are ordered and delivered according to local delivery schedules. You will provide an effective local customer and supplies service for stock products to allocated wards, receiving all goods and determining stock levels with ward managers. Customer service is a large part of this role, ensuring all customers have supplies in the right quantity, quality, place, and time, to support clinical services and to resolve complaints timeously.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential:
* Educated to Standard Grade or equivalent
* Have experience of Procurement / supply chain within a Hospital environment with knowledge of stock control procedures and previous knowledge of processing orders/advice notes/goods acceptance/delivery notes.
* Ability to function under pressure
* Previous experience of customer care.
* Computer skills (Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, etc).
* Planning and organisational skills
* Communication skills, eg negotiating/persuading/influencing/people management skills.
* Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop
* Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
* Numerate, literate, and practical
* Ability to use own initiative and priorities.
* Clean and valid UK driving licence.
Desirable:
* SVQ or CIPS qualification in Procurement/storage/warehousing and distribution or number of years’ experience.
Hours:
37 per week
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
