Your Role
You will play a pivotal part in delivering bespoke solutions for advanced naval systems as an Electrical Design Engineer. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and systems architects, you will bring projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Design & Development: Create detailed electrical designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts, tailored for unique naval applications.
* Testing & Validation: Conduct simulations and tests to validate system performance, ensuring all designs meet strict quality and compliance standards.
* Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into broader projects.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement design improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
* Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and user manuals, for both internal and client use.
* Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to relevant standards and regulations, particularly in safety-critical environments.
What You'll Need
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in electrical design, ideally within a high-tech, safety-critical environment.
* Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and signal processing.
* Experience with system integration and working within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with defence or maritime industries.
* Experience working on projects involving sonar, radar, or naval power systems.
* Understanding of regulatory standards (e.g., MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, or IEC standards).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
