A PVC Pipe Extrusion Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining extrusion machinesto manufacture high-quality PVC pipes. The role involves ensuring that production runs efficiently, maintaining process parameters, and troubleshooting any equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
* Machine Setup & Operation:
o Set up and adjust extrusion machines, tooling, and dies for different pipe sizes and specifications.
o Operate extrusion equipment to ensure smooth and continuous production of PVC pipes.
* Process Control & Optimization:
o Monitor process parameters, including temperature, pressure, and speed, to ensure consistent product quality.
o Adjust settings to optimize material usage and minimize waste.
* Quality Assurance:
o Conduct inspections and tests (e.g., wall thickness, diameter, and surface finish) to ensure pipes meet required standards.
o Identify and correct defects such as warping, inconsistent thickness, or surface imperfections.
* Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
o Identify and resolve issues related to extrusion machinery, dies, cooling systems, and downstream equipment.
o Perform routine maintenance and coordinate with the maintenance team for major repairs.
* Material Handling & Blending:
o Prepare and mix raw materials, including PVC resin, stabilizers, plasticizers, and additives.
o Ensure proper feeding of materials into the extrusion system.
* Safety & Compliance:
o Follow health and safety guidelines, ensuring safe operation of machinery and handling of materials.
o Maintain compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, production output, and downtime reports.
o Communicate any issues or process improvements to supervisors.
