We are seeking a motivated and compassionate salaried GP to join our team on a maternity cover basis, working 6 sessions per week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) starting Feb/March 2025, paying a competitive sessional rate.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality care to a varied patient caseload.
They will contribute to chronic disease management, health promotion, and preventative care, working alongside our multidisciplinary team.
They will participate in practice meetings and contribute to the delivery of QOF, enhanced services, and IIF.
They will handle associated administrative duties, such as reviewing and managing test results, prescriptions, referral letters, and patient correspondence.
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties
* Patient consultations - diagnose and treat a variety of acute and chronic conditions during face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
* Provide medical advice, prescribe treatments, and refer patients when necessary.
* Offer health promotion advice on lifestyle changes, vaccinations, and screenings.
* Handle on-the-day urgent cases and manage emergency situations.
* Maintain accurate, confidential medical records in line with practice and NHS standards.
* Review & action test results, hospital letters, and patient correspondence.
* Coordinate referrals to secondary care, allied health professionals, or social care teams.
* Manage medication reviews and approve repeat prescriptions.
* Attend clinical and MDT team meetings to discuss cases and improve patient outcomes.
* Contribute to audits, QI, and comply with QOF/IIF targets.

Multi-skilled administration team who supports all clinical team members with Docman, bloods, referrals, and other admin tasks.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a salaried GP role or similar primary care environment.
* Evidence of working with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to service improvements.
* Experience of working in a team environment.
* Experience in managing a specialist area or undertaking extended roles (e.g. minor surgery, family planning, mental health).
* Understanding local healthcare structures and primary care networks.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a license to practise.
* Inclusion on the NHS Medical performers list.
