As Senior Finance Business partner you will be a qualified accountant with proven analytical and interpersonal skills. You will need to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues at all levels.
As a key member of Finance Directorate, you will work closely with budget holders to set, monitor and manage budget. You will provide appropriate challenge to assumptions made to ensure robust in-year forecasting. As a Business Partner, you will develop meaningful management information, providing valuable insight to support decision making.
Day to day duties:
* Provide a holistic Finance Business Partnering service for us, becoming a key contact and critical friend to the business, ensuring and promoting robust financial awareness and governance at all levels.
* Ensure that the financial implications of new policies and projects are fully considered and communicated to budget holders and senior management;
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop annual planning and budget, providing supporting information and scenarios showing the impact of key decisions, with associated risks and opportunities;
* Ensure the month-end financial and management information and accounting process is carried out accurately and efficiently within a determined reporting schedule.
* Provide detailed and informative analysis of key financial metrics, including variance analysis of monthly budgets, supported by appropriate recommendations pertaining to calculated risk and opportunity
* Provide monthly reforecasting of budget, reporting key risks and opportunities to senior leaders.
* Develop suitable reporting tools to narrate financial position, and forecasts to both finance and non-finance colleagues across here. This may take the form of reporting examples such as monthly performance reporting, cost benefit analysis, project appraisal, and post-implementation reviews.
* Adopt a continuous improvement approach to policies, processes and systems throughout Finance.
* Provide ad hoc customised financial data extracts and reports for management analysis.
* Collate and provide evidence, with appropriate analysis, to support interim and year end statutory audit processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
* Developed ability in analysing and interpreting complex financial information and 'translating' this into clear management information using a variety of presentation techniques.
* Proven experience in managing the end-to-end budgeting and reporting cycle
* Proven ability to communicate the results of highly complex financial techniques to non-financial senior managers and operational colleagues.
* Strong attention to detail; consistently producing outputs to a high standard and providing a quality service.
* Able to prioritise own workload, in a busy environment with often competing priorities, ensuring key deadlines are achieved.
* Experience of working in a business partnering role, facilitating and promoting collaborative working throughout the organisation at all levels.
* Strong self-motivation, with the ability to multi-task, taking pride in your work, and a continuous improvement focus
* Customer focused and responsive with good commercial acumen / judgement.
* Professional, confident and credible communicator with good presentation skills.

* Strong computer skills (advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerBi, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to learn the business support and operating systems.
Qualifications
* Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA).
* Bachelor's degree with minimum two years of relevant management accounting experience.
