Behaviour Support - Reading
Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of young children? Are you patient, calm and proactive?
A friendly school in Wokingham is looking to add a Behaviour Support Assistant to their staff starting as soon as possible.
The Role:
The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will assist and support students who struggle with their behaviour due to trauma, anxiety, and depression. These students have difficulty coping, especially with regulating and processing their emotions.
Day to Day:
The Behaviour Support Assistant will help students with their daily tasks, supported by the class teacher. This includes setting up for lessons, clearing up afterwards, and managing classroom behaviour, either on a 1:1 basis or in small group settings.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, patient, adaptable, and thrive in fast-paced environments. You must be determined, confident, and passionate about education and helping vulnerable children.
Previous experience working with children who present with challenging behaviour is ideal, but attitude and personality are equally important as you will be a role model for these children.
Aspiring psychologists, therapists, and counsellors will benefit greatly from this role, as it adds valuable experience to your skillset. Graduates and individuals with a background in sports, art, or drama are also encouraged to apply.
