The Role:
An educated Christian lady in good health in her mid-forties is looking for someone to provide company and friendship. She lives in Wimborne Dorset with her dad. She has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which has caused her to become mildly agoraphobic and anxious, she nevertheless has full mental capacity. She would like a self-employed companion to accompany her on outings and for recreation. This will include assisting her to participate in social and leisure activities which they find mutually enjoyable for recreation and change. This is to enable her to live more independently and enable her to participate in and try new, fun and interesting activities to improve her confidence, abilities and satisfaction and to live her life to the full. She is looking for a warm genuine person who respects her points of view and will provide a two-way conversation and has a similar personality and interests. This role is predominantly a lone working position with one-to-one interaction.
Main Duties:
• To provide companionship, friendship and assistance including social interaction and engaging in conversation
• Be considerate and supportive of her wishes and choices and open to alternative points of view
• To visit charity shops and coffee shops
• Take part in activities, hobbies/crafts and interests
• To go on occasional day trips, visiting attractions/gardens/museums/gallery such as national trust sites
• Aim to attend indoor theatre, plays, concerts, cinema or club meetings/talks, and sporting events
• To go for walks and aim to go swimming, gym classes and to play netball (i.e. as an exercise buddy)
• To help visit and meet with her friends and new people and develop new friendships

Hours: Approx 3 - 6 hours per week to be worked flexibly
Pay: £19.00 per hour, self – employed rate. Carer’s admission to venues is free.
This role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 under Schedule 9.
