If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Customer Engagement & Transformation Service as a Programme Manager within the Digital Infrastructure Group (DiG) team.
As the DiG Programme Manager, you will play a key role in leading and delivering a range of digital infrastructure projects, ensuring the successful implementation of technology solutions that enhance service delivery and improve outcomes for the residents and businesses across the 6 Berkshire authorities which form part of the DiG. This role is ringfenced for a period to deliver the objectives of the Berkshire Digital Infrastructure Group chaired by the CEO of West Berkshire Council reporting to the Acting Transformation and Programme Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of initiatives, including but not limited to:
1. Leading the development and delivery of the council's digital infrastructure strategy
2. Overseeing the implementation of key projects, such as the expansion of our fibre network and the enhancement of connectivity across the district
3. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
4. Managing project budgets, resources, and risks to ensure successful outcomes
5. Providing expert advice and guidance on digital infrastructure matters to senior leaders and colleagues
6. Proactively seeking government grants to continue delivering emerging technologies to the residents of West Berkshire
To excel in this role, you should have:
7. Proven experience in successfully delivering complex programmes and projects, ideally within a public sector or local government environment
8. A strong understanding of digital infrastructure technologies and trends, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business requirements
9. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence individuals at all levels
10. Effective leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire project teams
11. Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
12. Able to procure services using appropriate frameworks and deal with contracts and suppliers accordingly.
