Role: General Housing Assistant - Domestic
Shift pattern: 11:00-13:00 Week 1: Monday, Friday, Saturday Week 2: Monday and Friday
The Abbeyfield Society is a national charity helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people by providing companionship in our supported housing accommodation, retirement apartments, and care homes.

You can never underestimate the power a friendly face and a home-cooked meal has on someone’s day. This is a varied role, with resident wellbeing at the forefront of what we do.
The main tasks of a General Housing Assistant include:
1. To clean and maintain communal areas within the service, including cleaning surfaces and vacuuming and dusting.
2. To have an understanding and comply with all COSHH regulations, working within the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Ensuring appropriate recording and audits required are prioritised.
3. Reporting any maintenance issues immediately to relevant parties.
4. To be responsible for cleaning equipment stock, including replenishing and security.
5. To support with preparation and serving of food.
6. To attend regular staff meetings and training courses as identified and agreed for appropriate development.
