Head of Infrastructure
Full-Time Role | Hybrid setup preferred | No recruiters | Visa sponsorship available
Limio is revolutionising how companies deliver subscriber experiences. The subscription economy is booming: 58 million British people subscribe to services like Spotify, Amazon Prime, HelloFresh, ZipCar, or The Economist. Limio empowers brands to create an omnichannel subscription commerce experience that just works.
We’re looking for a Head of Infrastructure to join our Technology team and take ownership of our infrastructure, observability, and compliance. You’ll help us ensure a robust platform capable of supporting the millions of subscribers we already serve and scaling with our growth.
Limio is an early-stage startup founded by Amaury de Closset and Daniel Morton, formerly of GoCardless (YC S11), Zuora, BCG, and Three. We’ve raised $420,000 from incredible entrepreneurs, including the founders of Gumtree, Entrepreneur First, and Zephr, and top business angels from Episode 1 and Crane VC. Our customers include The Economist, La Stampa, and Which?.
The Role
We are looking for a Head of Infrastructure who thrives in environments where they can establish processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and make impactful changes. You’ll work closely with developers and technical leads to own and enhance our platform’s cloud infrastructure, observability, and compliance readiness for PCI and SOC2.
As the trusted owner of our platform, you’ll ensure it is robust, scalable, efficient, and aligned with best practices. Here are some of the key responsibilities you’ll take on:
* Infrastructure Management: Own and evolve Limio’s AWS-based serverless, cloud infrastructure, leveraging tools like Terraform to maintain and improve our environment.
* Proactive Observability: Develop and implement a cost-effective observability strategy to ensure visibility into platform performance, reliability, and health.
* Proactive Monitoring: Ensure meaningful and actionable monitoring of critical metrics to maintain platform responsiveness.
* CI/CD Optimisation: Enhance our deployment pipeline (currently CircleCI), exploring opportunities such as GitHub Actions to streamline and improve the CI/CD process.
* Compliance Support: Support our adherence to PCI and SOC2 compliance standards by ensuring infrastructure, logging, and monitoring align with regulatory requirements.
* Incident Response: Lead operational debugging and incident management, driving post-mortems and process improvements.
* Cost Optimisation: Manage cloud spending, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-effective solutions.
* Management: You will oversee and manage a team that includes a Support Engineer and a DevOps Engineer, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
Limio is a startup of 25 people and we expect the Head of Infrastructure to be hands-on, deploying services, leading incidents response, and implementing changes. Our current technology stack includes AWS cloud services, CircleCI, and Terraform for infrastructure management.

* You have experience with cloud platforms like AWS, including serverless architectures, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and cost optimisation.
* Expertise in setting up proactive observability strategies, ensuring actionable monitoring for reliability, performance, and health, with tools such as Datadog, Sentry, or similar.
* Proven ability to lead operational debugging, manage critical incidents, and drive improvements through effective post-mortems.
* You’ve built and maintained CI/CD pipelines and are comfortable working with tools like CircleCI or GitHub Actions.
* You’ve led or played a key role in supporting PCI or SOC2 compliance efforts.
* You are happy to work in start of 25 people and to be hands-on with the work.
* You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with developers, stakeholders, and technical leads.
* You have a proactive, can-do attitude and thrive in an early-stage environment where your contributions make a significant impact.
