Graduate Submarines Structural Engineer

What you will be doing
As a Structural Engineering Graduate, you will join an exciting team who work throughout the whole submarine life cycle, from concept through to activities with the operational fleet. You could be involved in designing, developing and testing complex systems, components and products, as well as supporting the build, test, commissioning and in-service operation of all current, new and future classes of submarine such as our Dreadnought or Astute.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Supporting the Structural Design of Submarines.
* Outfit design – including sheet metal, deck coverings, furniture and fittings, to ensure a habitable submarine environment.
* Designing equipment to withstand shock and dynamic movements of the submarine whilst in operation.
* Lifting Arrangement Design and oversight of submarine movements within our Specialist Structural Engineering team.
* Structural and Stress Analysis.
Minimum Requirements
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant STEM subject, Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

On commencement of employment you will be paid a one-off non-consolidated lump sum payment of £2,000 (the “Welcome Payment”). The Welcome Payment is subject to the normal deductions and will be paid with your first salary payment.
