In this role, you will be working within a manufacturing company responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Finance Team and to ensure that the company's finance function is organised and efficient in producing accurate financial and management information and advice to other parts of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management of the finance function and responsibility for the Finance Team which comprises budgeting and management accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable including credit control, financial accounting and treasury functions.
2. Preparation of the monthly Management Accounts; P&L account, Balance Sheet, KPI's and reporting pack for Directors and the Group Finance Team.
3. To take the lead on the company's annual budget setting process resulting in an approved P&L, balance sheet and cash flow budget for the following financial year.
4. Cash flow forecasting and cash management.
5. Responsibility for processing all outgoing payments in the banking system and to be the day-to-day contact for the bank.
6. Control of the financial ledgers and accounting processes (Sage).
7. Preparation and submission of the company quarterly VAT return.
8. Preparation of the Year End Audit file and to act as the main point of contact with external auditors.
9. To ensure that appropriate systems and controls are implemented and maintained.
10. To make credit decisions for new and existing customers in line with company procedures.
11. Overseeing the effective collection of company trade debtors.
12. Provide commercial and financial advice to the wider organisation.
13. Analytical review of key financial ratios and revenue/expenditure patterns including liaison with departmental managers regarding necessary action.
14. Represent the finance function at multidisciplinary meetings.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.
2. Fully qualified AAT.
3. Sage payroll experience.
4. Commercially aware and able to take a broad business level view as well as provide technical solutions.
5. Good understanding of balance sheet analysis, credit risk, financial exposure and setting credit limits.
6. Hands on approach and proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
7. Computer literate with good Excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles.
