Learning Support Assistant job summary
The Rushmere Park Academy is looking for an experienced, caring, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team. You will need to support children from across the school with a range of needs, working alongside teachers to deliver our curriculum as well as your own initiative to support the progress of pupils.
The Learning Support Assistant will work within a driven and thriving staff team to support the learning and progress of all pupils. They must be able to work effectively under instruction from both class teachers and senior leaders at the school. A TA qualification is desirable, while experience working with children is essential.
We are committed to supporting the range of individual needs within our nursery, mainstream school, and specialist resource provision and seek out adults who value equity and education for all children. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who's passionate about supporting the learning and development of our fantastic young pupils and would like to increase their experience of working in an OFSTED rated 'good' school environment that supports pupils with a variety of needs. The successful candidate will receive appropriate, continuous professional development.
Key Duties
1. Providing support across the curriculum for pupils in class
2. Delivering planned one-to-one and group interventions
3. Supporting the development of an engaging learning environment
4. Promoting the ethos and values of our academy
5. Actively prioritising the health, safety and wellbeing of all children
6. Supervising children during break times
The successful candidate will:
1. Have experience of working with children in an educational setting (essential)
2. Be a friendly, enthusiastic team player who's passionate about supporting the learning and development of our fantastic young pupils
3. Have a TA qualification (desirable)
4. Be able to work effectively under instruction from class teachers and senior leaders to support the learning of children in school
5. Have an understanding of safeguarding and its implications within an educational setting (essential)
6. Be responsible and able to use initiative
Job Specifics:
Start date: Asap or following notice period
Salary: AS 1-3 £23,773-£24,327 FTE. Actual pro rata £19,515-£19,969
Contract: Full time, Permanent, Term time + Inset days, 35 hours per week, 8:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday with 30 mins for lunch
