Job Description
Responsible for the management of the highway network in accordance with the Highways Act 1980 to ensure that the highway is maintained in a safe and accessible condition.
To manage the safety/inspection of the highway network.
To use the powers in the Highways Act 1980 and other legislation to ensure compliance to and remove obstruction of the highway network.
To take responsibility for specific highway maintenance projects; to manage the successful delivery of services and annual works programmes in accordance with given priorities and resources.
To act as a focal point of contact in relation to all Highway Maintenance matters for Council Members, communities, key partners, citizens, and customers.
Lead, manage and develop successful and effective team and partnership working for the delivery of local highway maintenance services at an area and community level.
