* The opportunity to take technical ownership of a business' key core product!
* Make the product user-friendly and begin to replace the solution with a more web-based solution.
* Task-based mindset business - complete flexibility within working hours as long as you get the job done!
The Role
This is a brand new and exciting opportunity to join a reputable business that has seen vast growth over the last 12 months with their key core products. You will be working on an enterprise-scale product with over a million lines of code, largely focusing on the backend. It is an internal bespoke system developed by a third party. In the long-term, this product will become yours to fully own and manage.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take technical ownership without line management responsibilities while remaining hands-on with the code to ensure that the product is both maintainable and scalable. You will be part of a small, family-feel team of 5 developers, alongside the development manager who has line management responsibility for the other developers. You will report to the development manager but have full ownership of the product and technical decision-making.
The current solution is complex, and they are looking for the right person who has the ability to take the solution forward, modernize parts of it, and look at how it integrates with other systems. Technical lead experience is essential, and your previous experience will sit somewhere between a Technical Lead and some knowledge/exposure to architecture. The codebase is in good condition, and you will be responsible, along with the team, for transitioning the solution to a cloud-based SaaS product and driving it forward!
Technical skills:
* ASP.Net
* .Net Core
* C#
* SQL Server
* HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
Note: The current product is written in a mixture of .Net technologies from 4.6+ including some clusters in .Net 9. Next year, they plan to move over to .Net 10.
Company
This is a company with a real family-feel environment where everyone's opinion is valued, respected, and welcomed. You will be working within a small team whose third party has become an extension of their existing team, demonstrating the core values of their collaborative environment. You will not be afraid to push forward with the technical direction of a product, make suggestions, look at things holistically, and get your hands dirty with the code. They operate an "outcome over hours" type environment, treating everyone like an adult as long as the job at hand is done.
