Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Wheat Trader based in Chelmsford, Essex. The position is responsible for executing the day-to-day activity of the function, including position reporting, raw material procurement, assisting in logistics and administration associated with raw material procurement and co-product sales. As a key member of the trading team, you will have input into the development and execution of the risk management and procurement strategy for the business and in supporting the other functions of the business through the effective communication of the factors influencing our markets.
Your Responsibilities
1. Assist in the timely procurement of home grown wheat in accordance with the business strategy.
2. Compile and distribute accurate market information to other members of the trading team to assist in informed market decisions.
3. Work with suppliers and mill locations to improve supply chain efficiencies to meet agreed performance targets.
4. Work with the sales team to provide accurate market knowledge to assist in the pricing of flour contracts, and look for opportunities to add value to sales and secure margin.
5. Develop an understanding and have exposure to the Risk management strategy of the business with particular reference to position reporting.
6. Adhere to internal company and corporate regulations and procedures as laid out in the company procedure manual.
7. Timely reporting of raw material positions, identifying and reporting to the Trading Director any out of limit positions or risks that could materially affect the business.
Your Profile
1. Positive and flexible attitude, with good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
2. Numerate and logical.
3. Good communication skills and telephone manner.
4. Intermediate Level in MS packages e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel.
