The role of Screening Coordinator is to support the commissioning of safe, high quality national screening programmes. You will provide direct support across a range of commissioning activities to ensure programmes meet national requirements and are delivered effectively, focusing on reducing health inequalities and inequities.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about public health. You will have relevant knowledge and experience of working with screening programmes, the ability to manage competing priorities, evaluate and present complex data, and have good communication skills. The Screening Coordinator has responsibility for:
1) Supporting commissioning of the Section 7a national screening programmes
* Monitoring performance
* Developing strong relationships with providers
* Incident management
* Responding to queries and advising providers
* Preparation and minute taking for Programme Boards
* Monitoring Screening Quality Assurance Service recommendations
2) Participating in local and regional team meetings
* Sharing knowledge and acting upon recommendations
* Maintaining and updating logs on incidents and concerns
3) Other duties as defined by the job description.
The role of the Screening Coordinator is to bring specific public health expertise to support the Screening and Immunisation Lead (SIL) and Screening and Immunisation Manager (SIM) in providing effective public health leadership for screening programmes across the East Midlands region.
You will provide direct support to the SIM by providing public health advice and expertise across the full range of screening commissioning activities, as specified in the Section 7A agreement and which are required to ensure that screening programmes:
* Meet the needs of all eligible people
* Are provided to the highest levels of quality, safety, and efficiency
* Meet minimum standards and strive for excellence
* Ensure equity of access and uptake
In collaboration with your manager and other team members, you will implement strategies and plans to support continuous improvement of public health outcomes from the commissioned national programmes.
The post holder will be expected to work as part of a team to ensure coordinated and integrated delivery of individual programmes and team priorities.
