The Person Essential Criteria No experience required; full training provided Communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills Awareness of health and safety issues in a kitchen Ability to work effectively within a team Ability to perform physical tasks frequently, such as lifting catering equipment Self-motivated with good personal and work hygiene Flexible and adaptable to varied tasks Desirable Criteria Minimum of one year's experience in a catering outlet (e.g., shop, deli) Basic food hygiene certificate Ability to communicate well with children and young adults The Role Prepare and serve food and beverages, including fruits, vegetables, and snacks, in accordance with food safety standards. Assist with basic cooking tasks and ensure food is attractively displayed at service points. Set up and maintain dining areas, including tables, chairs, cutlery, and serving points. Handle queries from pupils, parents, and staff in a friendly manner while addressing any issues promptly. Perform general cleaning duties, including washing up and maintaining service areas. Monitor food temperatures and assist with stock management, including storage and rotation. Operate the cashless till system accurately and maintain proper records. Support food service for school functions and events, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Report equipment issues to the Catering Manager and participate in required training.
