ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced and hands on Head of IT to lead our technology department. This role requires a Head of IT who can drive innovation, ensure robust IT operations and support our business objectives through effective technology management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic IT Leadership
2. Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with thepany’s business goals and regulatory requirements.
3. Provide strategic direction on the adoption and integration of new technologies to improve business efficiency andpetitiveness.
4. Lead the IT department in planning, managing, and implementing IT projects.
5. Technology Management
6. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of thepany’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and data centres.
7. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all IT systems.
8. Manage the selection and implementation of software solutions to support business processes.
9. Cybersecurity andpliance
10. Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and ensurepliance with industry regulations.
11. Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and implement measures to mitigate risks.
12. Ensurepliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and FCA guidelines.
13. Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
14. Oversee relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality service delivery.
15. Monitor and evaluate the performance of IT service providers.
16. Lead and coordinate internal and external IT audits to ensurepliance with FCA regulations and industry standards.
17. Develop, implement, and monitor IT audit frameworks and policies.
18. Ensure continuous audit readiness by maintaining up-to-date documentation and evidence.
19. Oversee the development and implementation of user access policies and controls to ensure secure and appropriate access to systems and data.
20. Conduct regular reviews and audits of user access rights and permissions to maintain least-privilege principle and ensurepliance.
21. Manage the user access lifecycle, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding processes.
22. Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
23. Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, performance evaluation, and training.
24. Promote collaboration and effectivemunication within the IT department and with other business units.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
25. Bachelor’s degree in information technology,puter Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (, ITIL, CISSP) is preferred.
26. Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, preferably within the financial services or brokerage industry.
27. Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, and regulatorypliance.
28. Experience of leading on technology audit.
29. Excellent strategic planning and project management skills.
30. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
31. Effectivemunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
