We are looking for compassionate and enthusiastic qualified nurses to join our stroke rehab unit which is committed to delivering on the national stroke guidelines. Our successful nurse-led ward seeks to provide development opportunities for motivated individuals.
With a recent focus on developing clinical skills on the ward, this is an exciting time for this nurse-led ward to embrace a commitment to learning and development seeking innovative ways to deliver high-quality care to patients with increasingly complex needs.
You will support the Ward Manager by contributing to the provision, management and co-ordination of services on the ward to ensure that effective, sympathetic and individualised 24-hour patient care is maintained. You will participate in the development of nursing care.
Main duties of the job
* Assess, plan, provide, document & evaluate individualised, high-quality care.
* Maintain & develop knowledge, skills & competence in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, PREP and Trust Policies & Procedures.
* Participate in the development of quality initiatives.
* Maintain & provide accurate records, reports and information ensuring that confidentiality is maintained.
* Contribute to a learning environment.
* Act as a mentor to students and newly qualified staff.
* Maintain & promote a safe working environment, with particular reference to infection control and health & safety.
* Maintain & promote effective communication both within the MDT and with other colleagues, patients, relatives & visitors.
* Assist in the management of the ward budget & ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
* Ensure that repairs & replacements are ordered by appropriate reporting.
