Scholarship Description: The research focuses on addressing the challenge of efficiently and sustainably arriving at optimal conditions for material production using flow chemistry. The successful candidate will explore the development of bespoke algorithms for autonomous optimization, comparing design-of-experiments with self-optimizing methods. The goal is to optimize cost, product yield, sustainability, and process model generation for a range of organic materials. This PhD provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to materials science while gaining expertise in robotic, digital, chemical, and physical thinking.
Eligibility: Prospective candidates are expected to meet the following criteria:
* Hold a PhD in biomaterials or a closely related field.
* Demonstrate expertise in mammalian cell culture and analysis of polymer-cell interactions.
* Show the ability to conduct research with limited supervision.
* Possess a track record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
* Exhibit the ability to work collaboratively within a team and build effective professional relationships.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
