An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and forward-thinking SENDCo to join a primary school in Plymouth due to the upcoming retirement of the current postholder.
About the Role
As a non-class-based SENDCo, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with SEND by:
Overseeing the creation and implementation of individual learning, behaviour, and health plans
Reviewing and assessing pupil progress and targets
Preparing Annual Review documentation and writing new EHCP requests as needed
Liaising with external agencies and providing pastoral support to pupils and families
Leading and coordinating an experienced SEND team
Delivering staff training on SEND and up-to-date teaching strategies to promote inclusion
The Ideal Candidate Will
Put children first and be passionate about inclusion
Be an experienced primary SENDCo (NASENCO qualification achieved or NPQSEND in progress)
Have a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding (DDSL experience desirable)
Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for supporting pupils with SEND
Be proactive, well-organised, and confident in liaising with multi-agencies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
