About the role…
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team, you will support the Commercial team working closely on our United Utilities accounts. This is a permanent opportunity and will be of hybrid nature with both home working and working from our office in Warrington and at times Chorley.
What will your day look like…
1. Support the Commercial Team to ensure compliance with Avove systems, processes, and Commercial procedures.
2. Work within strict deadlines required in Avove and as per the contractual requirements within our Framework Agreements/NEC Contract(s).
3. Support in the Financial creation, monitoring and reporting of Subcontract Orders assigned.
4. Support the Commercial Team in exercising full cost control of project(s) in conjunction with the Commercial Lead as directed.
5. Assisting and establishing suitable construction contracts with clients to suit procurement needs.
6. Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements in respect of Contracts assigned.
7. Assist in the collation of data/facts with respect of all variations to the works in conjunction with other project team members and/or Subcontracts.
8. Assist with commercial completion of the Contracts including maintaining contemporary records for use in supporting claims, extensions of time and evaluation of variations.
9. Assist in managing the appointment and ongoing management of Subcontractors.
10. Assist the Commercial Lead and internal Stakeholders with the administration, submission, applications for payment of Subcontractors and final accounts where applicable.
11. Support the preparation and contribution to the formulation of weekly and monthly financial reports.
About you…
This role is perfect for someone who has a background in Commercial and is looking to progress their career as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Experience in the Utility sector would be desirable but is not essential. A degree qualification or studying towards RICS or equivalent is desirable, along with knowledge and/or experience of working on Framework Agreements and/or have NEC3 or 4 knowledge. You will be a strong relationship builder; customer focused and have fantastic communication skills with the ability to time-manage, work to strict deadlines and work within a team.
