Hays Leadership are currently supporting a secondary school in the West Midlands who require some additional leadership support on an interim basis. We are looking for an experienced senior leader with a background in inclusion and/or a qualified SENCO. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the school over the summer term.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for leading and managing the SEN department, ensuring that all students with special educational needs receive the support they require to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective strategies and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the SEN department, providing guidance and support to staff.
* Develop and implement SEN policies and procedures in line with current legislation.
* Coordinate and oversee the assessment and identification of students with SEN.
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and support.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, making adjustments as necessary.
* Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff.
