The Quality Engineer function will work closely under the direction of the Quality Manager who is responsible for quality compliance of the organisation to customer and regulatory requirements, on a wide range of quality assurance and control activities to ensure our KPIs are achieved. The successful candidate will work within the Quality department supporting the organisation's key processes including NPI & Product Realisation, as well as the vision for Total Quality Management. Main Duties will include but not limited to:
* Responsible for the quality of all processed products.
* Interface with internal and external customers & suppliers on quality issues.
* Disposition of non-conforming products, First Articles, reworking routings & customer quality notifications.
* Submission of article concessions, First Article Inspection Reports and Non-conformance reports.
* Configuration management including change management.
* Generation of QMS procedures, work instructions & inspection plans supporting NPI & Product Realisation processes.
* Lead / Support RCCA workshops to implement robust corrective & preventive actions.
* Generation & monitoring of FMEA, Controls Plans and monitored data.
* Review customer and regulatory standards / specifications for QMS compliance.
* Management of the calibration system.
* Support quality improvement programs to reduce scrap, rework and non-value add costs.
* Data capture, analysis, and action generation to bring about improvements based upon factual data.
* Conduct internal product & process audits to internal audit program requirements.
* Support periodic business quality reviews.
* Support regulatory & customer compliance audits.
* Provide training on quality assurance, control and supply chain requirements.
Qualifications:
* Proven track record as a Quality Engineer in either aerospace, nuclear or similarly regulated sector.
* Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to solve problems using tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, 5Y & Ishikawa.
* AS9100 / ISO9001 Lead or Internal certified auditor.
* Engineering Drawing / CAD Model Interpretation.
* IT Literate - Microsoft Office Software.
* Strong written and verbal communications.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities.
* Self-Motivated and positive mindset to make continual improvement personally and for the organisation.
* Knowledgeable in AS9100 QMS requirements.
* AS9102 FAI experience is desirable.
* ISO14001 experience is desirable.
* NADCAP AC7108 / AC7114 experience.
* Auditing experience is desirable.
* Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
* Have a good understanding of purchasing and procurement.
* Engineering/Manufacturing background or hold a degree in an engineering discipline.
Desirable skills:
* It would be great if you had SAP experience but we will provide you with full training.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* An understanding of Engineering Processes, precision machining and surface treatment disciplines.
* Formal Project Management Qualification would be advantageous; however, we would look to book you onto a course if you don't already hold this.
