More about the role
This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as an Industrial Test Engineer in our Systems & Services team (Part of Digital Solutions) in the UK (Cwmbran, Wales) with Signify.
Within Business Unit Professional Systems and Services, it’s your job to industrialize (semi) automated testing for our professional IoT hardware. We operate in various segments (Office, industry, public) where we deliver best-in-class systems to serve our customers globally.
As an Industrial Test Engineer you will:
1. Fully manage the test activities within assigned NPI (new product introductions) projects for Professional Systems & Services.
2. Ensure proper Design for Test with optimal test-coverage and programmability by early participation in the NPI projects with (pre-)development.
3. Be a driving force in identifying and providing feedback on possible improvements in product design or test processes according to local and subcontractor test results.
4. Be responsible for implementing product changes in tester hardware and/or software.
5. Actively participate in the development of global test roadmaps (equipment/strategy) on structural, functional, and reliability testing.
6. Maintain frequent contacts with colleagues within divisions and outside Signify, including other R&D and knowledge centers, subcontractors, and test equipment suppliers, to initiate improvements in testing processes, equipment, and strategy.
7. Manage the industrialization program regarding industrial test engineering at European contract manufacturers in time and in full.
8. Support the rollout of the Design for Manufacturing program for your projects.
More about you
While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:
1. You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. At least 2 years of working experience in product development or manufacturing engineering.
3. Previous experience taking ownership and responsibility for projects within the field of existing product improvements.
4. Comfortable leading and executing a project from start to end (specifications to implementation).
5. Experience and knowledge of LabVIEW, CVI, and TestStand are mandatory.
6. Experience and knowledge in other languages (C#, Python, etc.) are beneficial.
7. Able to work independently while being part of a global team.
8. Clear in communication (fluent English - verbal and written required).
