What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Board of Coton-in-the-Elms C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint two experienced teaching assistants to join our wonderful school. In June 2023, the school had a full OFSTED inspection, and we are proud of our GOOD judgement with OUTSTANDING for Personal Development. We are proud of our SIAMS inspection form June 2024, recognising the excellent provision we offer our families. We have an excellent staff team and our pupils are a joy to work with. We are looking for someone who can provide interventions and support to our vulnerable pupils and provide cover for teachers in class.
It would be beneficial if you were interested in working alongside our SENDCO, to provide pastoral care. The successful candidate will work primarily within the Key Stage 2 classroom but will also be part of our Reading Squad who will support the teaching of reading from reception to Year 2. We are a compassionate school who will consider a flexible working pattern for the right candidate.
The successful candidates must:
• Be an enthusiastic and dedicated person who will encourage and engage with pupils.
• Have the patience and understanding to work with young children demonstrating outstanding care and support for pupils.
• Have experience in school working with pupils.
• Demonstrate willingness to engage in professional development and whole school initiatives.
• Have the ability to work as part of team, forming positive relationships with adults and pupils.
• Be willing to complete any statutory training.
• It would be desirable for someone to have a level 3 or higher qualification in order to be able to cover classes this will be paid at the higher HLTA rate).

Further details about the role
There is the possibility of an additional 2 hours per day after school to support our wrap around club. This would be on a self-employed basis with the external company who run this provision.
