As the Food & Beverage Manager, you are responsible for the well-being of our residents through the preparation and delivery of home-cooked meals, as well as supervision for the food services team.
Responsibilities:
* Coach and support the team to develop comprehensive knowledge of the current menu offered.
* Order and receive food services items.
* Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies.
* Support the preparation of quality, home-style meals while considering dietary restrictions.
* Plan seasonal menus.
* Maintain provincial compliance standards for successful inspection outcomes, inclusive of food safety and sanitization requirements; while maintaining standards for presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
* Implement processes so the environment is safe for staff and residents, making efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries where possible.
* Interact with residents to resolve inquiries in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
* Recruit new team members as needed, including interviews.
* Engage team members including performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring.
* Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements.
* Work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, shifts vary based on business demands.
* Evenings and weekends as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Food Services Management through Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or equivalent.
* Strong background in food services in a residential care setting or hotel.
* Leadership experience in food services is required.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.
* Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
* Comprehensive food services knowledge, including focus on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation.
* Superior oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve.
* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
* Experience in a union environment is preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
* Food Safe Certification Level 2.
* Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
