New Product Coordinator - Cosmetics
The Company:
An excellent opportunity for an Assistant New Product Developer to join our fast-growing, successful FMCG company. We supply both private label and branded products to leading retailers worldwide. We are a highly respected, dynamic cosmetic and skincare company that has seen significant growth year on year.
About You:
* This role would suit someone with previous NPD experience or experience in similar roles such as Assistant Buyer or Buying Assistant.
* You will have a keen interest in cosmetics & skincare and keep up to date with market trends. You will have a creative eye, good problem-solving skills, and great attention to detail. The nature of the workload requires you to work intuitively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* You will possess good communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships across all areas of the business.
* A good team player who shows enthusiasm & flexibility.
* You will have good Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel & PowerPoint.
The Role:
* You will be working in the fast-paced New Product Development department, reporting to the project management team and assisting in successfully delivering projects to our worldwide customers.
* You will be an integral part of the team liaising with all areas of the business and our Chinese manufacturing facility. Your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): supporting with design amendments, arranging product and cosmetic samples, sample management, helping with cosmetic colour selection, product costing, reviewing technical issues, liaising with suppliers, and sourcing.
* Liaise with the graphics team to prioritize design & artwork creation. Brief in & review CADS and sample artwork.
* Arrange samples & manage the sampling process, working with our internal teams & factories to prepare them for client approval. Ensure the samples meet the customer brief, are fit for process, and review & resolve any issues.
* Cosmetic colour development and building product ranges through a selection of cosmetics & colours.
* Briefing in new formulation developments based on client requirements, working closely with in-house chemists to develop skincare and colour cosmetic formulations both in the UK and China.
* Communicate with the China team to resolve queries and ensure key information is supplied in a timely manner.
* Sourcing components and formulations with our Far East & UK factories.
* Work closely with the regulatory team to understand challenges and technical issues surrounding formulation developments, communication, and specifications.
